But it rained aka Paapi Peth ka sawaal

It rained yesterday.... giving us hapless souls a few minutes of respite from the torturous heat, the childish fun of getting drenched and a chance to enjoy mirchi bajjis.
The entire hostel empty with only us oldies left to crib about food and summer...
The eating patterns have drastically changed with me having tiffin for lunch and auntie's dosas for dinner.

So, why am I doing this? To put it simply, all the wing talk about food has made me incredibly hungry(that and the fact that I missed lunch and dinner) So this time its about the snacks I'd like to eat in the warmth of my room with a good book curled up inside a cosy blanket with the rain pouring outside.

I have always craved the savouries of all sorts but Aulakki/Pohe/Rice flakes it is for me. As long as I can remember, I have loved to eat this beaten rice preparation , Even when I was an infant, I would crawl to the person incharge of the kitchen and mesmerise them into making a plate of aulakki for me. (mind you I had no teeth then, so it was quite hard to swallow.)
Rava upma ..mmmmm..another of my favourites. Mom rules in making upma, though I rule in the sublime art of pohe-making.
And ofcourse, the above mentioned Bajjis, these are one of the unhealthiest deep fried oil drenched snacks ever but they taste like bites of heaven. Oh! I would give my right limb to have a plateful of those. And by mirchi bajjis, I mean real hot small mirchis, not those funny banana like huge peppers. Believe me , the serious 4th degree burns in the throat are worth it.
Bhelpuri and Panipuri are right up there with the rest of the yummies.
and to go with all these... Masala chai obviously. Tea goes with almost anything (even coffee).
So there, all ye people reading this, fantasize about your fav. goodies and let Mr. tummy growl.
